Rosacea is really a very severe conditions that mostly affects Caucasian as well as individuals that are fair-skinned. This problem is seen as a prolonged inflammation of the face, especially within the central areas in the nose, chin, cheeks, and forehead. The condition is very common in women as compared to men, despite the fact that when it strikes males, it is usually more serious. Rosacea usually happens to people between the age of 30 and 50 and people feel that individuals who have them just have a serious case of acne or sunburn. Other symptoms are stinging and burning sensation, enlarged blood vessels in the face that leads to appearance of red lines, and in severe cases among males, the swelling of the nose.

As yet, it is still unknown what is the precise cause of this problem. Nevertheless, lots of doctors have dialed-in some elements that help develop this situation such as occurence of flushing. But one other factor is diet. There are people who have reported that eating a certain kind of food can lead to flushing, and stinging sensation which can then develop into rosacea.

One substance found in food that may trigger Rosacea is histamine. Histamine initiates vasodilation and therefore it will amplify the symptom of rosacea. These food consist of cheese, alcohol, dried fruits, chocolate, milk, tomatoes, and more.

An additional substance that may improve the likelihood or rosacea is Niacin. Niacin, also known as vitamin B3 can increase the dilation of blood vessels which in turn leads to flushing. Some of the food rich in Niacin consist of eggs, spinach, lobster, salmon, tofu, and shrimp.

Some people who have rosacea reported varying degrees of sensitivity to foods containing salicylates, observing that those meals seem to worsen their symptoms. Food that have high salicylates content include champagne, wines, tea, honey, ginger, pepper, mint, almonds, peanuts, pineapples, raisins, chili, green peppers, radish, and many more.

Diets that are high in carbohydrates and sugars naturally causes the body to produce more insulin. Insulin secretion produces Phospholipase A2 which induces the pro-inflammatory Arachidonic Acid products, which in turn aggravates the symptoms of rosacea. Some of the foods that are high in carbohydrates are rice, bread, pasta, beans, potatoes, rice, bran, and cereals.
