First of all you need to find a good bowling alley available for practicing. This is not as easy to do as a few years ago because many alleys are closing. Look on the Internet to find one in your area. You also need to get comfortable bowling shoes of your own rather than relying on renting shoes. Your own bowling ball is also a must. The finger holes should be the right size and distance from each other, and for most adults the weight should be about 14 to 16 lbs. Having a ball that works well for you is important, so take time choosing one.

The secret to how to bowl better is to practice, practice, and practice some more. The right starting stance for bowling is having your bowling hand under the ball and your other hand supporting it as well, with the ball in front and a little to the side. As you start to move, avoid running, have your knees bent a little, keep the shoulders square with the pins, and have the foot opposite to your bowling hand a little bit forward. Use a four step approach, starting with your right foot if you are right handed. Push the ball straight out in front of you with the first step, stretching the arms all the way.
