If you are in a relationship that you are happy in, that is great.  A lot of people are in loving, healthy relationships that last for a lifetime.  Although ending a relationship is truly never easy, no matter how short a relationship it may have been, there are a few tips that can help.  If this is how you feel, there are a few tips for ending a relationship that can help you make it through this.

Before you go ahead and end a relationship you need to decide whether you want to remain friends with that person or not.  Of course we are all too familiar with the ‚let‚ just be friends’ saying but in some cases you may actually not want to stay friends.  Make sure that you are honest with them so that you are not dragging them on if they are still interested.  If you are ending a relationship because that person hurt you then there is not necessarily a reason you should keep them in your life.

You need to be clear when you are ending a relationship, and let the other person know what it is that is not working for you.  You may think that covering up the real reason to be nice is the better idea but it isn’t.  While it can hurt to hear things about yourself and have someone dump you, you can certainly appreciate honesty and this can help them to move on and not make the mistakes with the next person they get into a relationship with.  Ending a relationship can be a painful process for sure, but you will both grow from it.

A lot of people have problems with deciding whether or not they want to end the relationship.  At least by ending it both people have a chance to move on and find someone that really does appreciate them and who they can settle down and have a life with.  A lot of people stay in relationships out of fear and this is never a good idea.  You may think that you are going to hurt their feelings or worry that if you dump them you are going to be alone for the rest of your life.

The bottom line is that most people stay in a relationship because they want to settle down with that person down the road and start a family.  So if you ever come to realize that you just are not happy and think there is someone better suited for you, there is no point in stringing the relationship on any longer.  If the relationship is still not working for you, then you are probably just going to better off ending it.  Ending a relationship can be hard but you can make it through and likely you are going to find someone else that you are more compatible and happy with.
