The origin of numerology is unknown and has no definite answer, and most of the numerologists consider the Egypt and Babylon as the earliest place that has the history of numerology.  The evidence of numerological practice for thousands of years ago is also found in Rome, China, Japan, and Greece.  However, the development of the modern numerology all happened with the help of the Greek philosopher Pythagoras, who born in Greece in 590 BC.  There is only little written evidence of the early numerology that was taught in the early numerology school of the era.

Numerology is believed to be one of the oldest forms of the metaphysical interpretation and communication and numbers are used in this method.  The numbers are described as the language intelligence within themselves and in olden days, people used markings, numbers and scribing methods to communicate, trade, and exchange their ideas.  From the ancient times, the four perfect numbers 6, 28, 496, and 8128 have been used, and there is no record for these discoveries.  Throughout the ages, numerology has always fascinated many people with its cabalism, precipitation, mystical fusion, and excitement.

Most numerologists believe that the every number in this universe have some power or vibration, which cannot be expressed by the figure or symbol.  Pythagoras and Cornelius Agrippa are the great philosophers, who have provided much to the numerological readings.  According to their findings, all objects in this universe are assigned a number and all the values of the tangible or intangible body have a definite meaning.  Today, many modern numerologists use this principle with their own changes with respect to the method they follow.  For example, the birth date of an individual is combined in some method to show their personal traits and strength.  Also, birth date is combined and examined by means of simple mathematical calculation, then decrypted to forecast the future events of a person.

It was Dr. Julia Steton, who gave the name numerology to the science of names and numbers.  Today, there are about three different forms of numerology available: the Chaldean, the Kabbalah, and the Pythagorean.  Each version follows different method of calculation and gives numerous predictions about the future events of an individual.  The Chaldean system is considered as the original practice, in which every alphabet is assigned a number.  Chaldean numerology always uses compound numbers and number 9 is considered as the holy number, so it is kept apart from other vibrations.  It is up to an individual to choose the different version of numerology to predict their future using numbers.
