Of course if you work in the mining industry you should be aware of the history behind your job, how it all got started.  The history of mining goes back much farther than a lot of people believe it to.  There are a few incidences that took place over the course of mining history that are particularly important to learn about.  When you learn about mining history you can understand how everything got started and how mining became what it is today.

Coal is abundant around the world and this is why mining companies are set up worldwide.  Right from the beginning people knew that there was valuable ore all over the globe and wanted to yield as much as they could.  It was around the 17th century when mining truly first began and it was in Britain where the main techniques of coal mining were actually developed.  Of course over the course of the 19th and 20th centuries there were newer more innovative techniques and machinery created.

From Belgium to Canada, Korea to the United States, of course the popularity of mining differed from one place to the next.  Although the Gold Rush is really only considered to have taken place for a few years, it definitely left its impact on the world.  It was actually in Britain where the major mining techniques relied on today were developed.  The California Gold Rush is what brought such infamy to the United States for their mining.

Everyone wanted to get their share and this is how San Francisco grew to become such a booming town.  Besides a lot of people making out with gold and lots of profit, there were other important results of the Gold Rush as well.  For one thing San Francisco grew in size in an incredibly short period of time, from being nothing more than a small settlement to a huge striving town.  This is the start of how San Francisco became the hugely popular tourist destination it is today.

The future of mining still looks bright.  There is lots more ore to be found and mining companies continue to work hard.  Many people are not aware of it but mining is still relied on all around the world and so mining history is expected to only continue.  You can easily find regional mining centers in your area and apply for a job if you are interested in getting started in the booming mining industry.
