Mining employment sounds pretty ideal to most people.  Entry level positions for mining usually pay double, even triple the regular minimum wage and this is the most appealing thing for most people.  The main reason people are so drawn to mining employment is because of how well it pays.  For any person who is interested in attaining mining employment, there are a few tips that can really be helpful.

For one thing, you want to make sure that you have all the proper certification beforehand.  This is important for a few reasons.  For one you are going to need it anyway to get a job on a mine field, typically even for entry level positions so why not get it taken care of on your own time before you even apply?  For another thing, it is going to look much more impressive on your resume when applying to any mining job if you have this certification already.

You want an employer to know you are ready to work and that they will not have to wait for you to go through training.  Instead of dropping your resume off with some random person through a mining company, contact the person in charge directly.  Another tip is to contact the right people on your own instead of relying on others to get your resume to them.  You do not want to be a bother but you can either hand in your resume directly to the person in charge if you can, or at least make sure you call them and confirm they received your information a few days after you hand it in.

You do not want to continuously call and end up being a bother but you do want to see whether or not they are even considering your application.  If you drop off your resume nonchalantly and never attempt to contact them back it is going to look bad on your part.  Safety is always the first precaution in the mining industry because the jobs are so potentially dangerous.  There are usually some drug and alcohol tests required for mining jobs.

You will usually have to be willing to relocate for a mining job as well.  The regional mining companies are those that have the most jobs available and these are located in only certain areas around the world.  There are also a lot of people who choose to leave their family behind and travel to the regional mine centers to work for six months to a year and then go back home.  There are certain areas with regional mining centers and you may need to move to be closer to the job site.
